FAQS

How did you start writing?

I have always loved telling stories and am a huge bookworm! Some of my favourite genres include fantasy, science fiction, and non-fiction books about wildlife. Writing is definitely one of those things which takes practice, patience, and time: there is no one way to improve your practice, but I have found one of the most useful strategies for me is to just set aside a specific chunk of time, and put pen to paper. If it’s bad, you can edit it later. Little by little, the stories will grow.

What media do you work with as an artist?

I paint watercolours and acrylics. For illustrations I also enjoy using fineliner pens.

Where do you find your inspiration?

I find much of my inspiration in the landscape and ecology of my favourite places. I grew up visiting Wales frequently, and there is something very special about its coastal and countryside landscapes, towns, and cities. More recently, I have been very lucky to spend time working in wildlife conservation in Costa Rica: the tropical rainforests, abundance of wildlife, and national respect for these ecosystems, remind me of the small actions everybody can take to look after the natural world.
